Yesterday in Buffalo, as I stood just a few feet away from where a white supremacist slaughtered 10 Black men and women that were shopping for groceries on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, families asked me to say the HARD THINGS that needed to be said out loud.
🚨And here’s the truth.
The leaders of this country, from the elected officials and police of Buffalo, to the elected officials of New York, to the House, the Senate, and the White House want us to believe, year after year, attack after attack, that they ACTUALLY care about white supremacy.
But they don’t care. They don’t.
To Joe Biden, Governor Kathy Hochul, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, & Chuck Schumer if you ACTUALLY care about interrupting and stopping white supremacist attacks…

SHOW US YOUR PLAN.
SHOW US YOUR STAFF.
Show us the budget, the plan, and the staff you’ve recruited and hired to take this problem seriously.
Otherwise, WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU.
We are finished believing your kind words that are NEVER followed up with corresponding actions.
If you don’t show us your budget, plan, and staff that make white supremacy the priority it needs to be, then quit lying to our communities about how much you care.
If the staff and budget and plan isn’t comparable to what you are doing RIGHT NOW in Ukraine halfway across the world, we don’t believe you.

Had you taken Charleston seriously…
Had you taken Charlottesville seriously…
Had you taken 1,000 white folk storming the CAPITOL seriously…
We might not even have what just happened in Buffalo.
But most every elected official in America is ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL when it comes to white supremacy.
